Radio Frequency Microneedling

RF Micro needling is most commonly used to combat problems in the facial skin but other areas of the body can be treated to reduce the appearance of stretch marks and scars. At our clinics in Reading and London, we can address a variety of issues with RF Microneedling, including:

The RF microneedling procedure does create controlled injuries in the skin but is relatively comfortable. At DrBK, we use a fractional radio frequency device, meaning that energy is emitted only to the specific tissue layer requiring treatment, avoiding any injury to other tissues, in turn creating a more rapid healing process.

The pain associated with fractional radio frequency micro needling may be more than traditional micro needling by itself but is very manageable using standard pain management techniques. A topical anaesthetic may be applied to minimise any discomfort.

As with all radio frequency microneedling treatments on the market (such as Morpheus8, Focus Dual, Secret RF), it is recommended to have around 3-6 sessions (at 1 month intervals) to achieve optimum results.

Every persons's skin is unique and therefore, time scales may vary.

As a general, you should start to see improvements in the texture and tone of your skin from the first session. However, it takes time for production of new collagen to form so it may take longer (several weeks) to see the more significant changes.

As RF Micro needling is considered a non-invasive procedure, the risk and downtime involved are minimal. The most common side-effect felt by most patients is a little skin irritation and redness of the skin post-treatment. This redness should subside over the next few hours but can last up to 24 hours after the treatment. Most patients return to their usual routine on the same or next day.

We use fractional radio frequency: Fractional radio frequency means that energy is emitted only to the specific tissue layer requiring treatment, avoiding any injury to other tissues, in turn creating a more rapid healing process.

We use gold-plated, insulated needles: The use of insulated needles allows RF energy to be delivered into the dermis, while protecting the epidermis from most of the heat, thereby minimising the risk of side effects and downtime.

Adjustable needle depths and alternative heads for different issues: Our radio frequency devices allow us to adjust the depth of the needles to cater for all different types of skin issues (i.e. acne scarring will require a deeper penetration).

32 gold plated needles: Our fractional radio frequency microneedling devices contains 32 gold plated needles. When there are too few needles, the needles are more widely spaced apart, resulting in bigger untreated zones. Other radio frequency microneedling devices like Morpheus8, include 26.

This treatment starts from £500 per session. We recommend 3 sessions at 1 month intervals for optimum results.
